Daniel E. Overack, PhD., 71, of Broken Arrow, Okla., died Monday, April 19, 2004, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1932, in Hammond, Ind., to Stella and Leo Overack.
He was a 1950 graduate of Bishop Noll High School in Hammond. In 1954 he received a bachelor's degree in biology from Loras College in Bubuque, Iowa, and a doctorate in zoology in 1960 from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. He was a member of the Catholic Church of Saint Benedict in Broken Arrow. He married Sandra Pawol on Aug. 17, 1957, in Clovis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Mildred Opat.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David Overack (and wife, Shelly); a daughter, Marie Mullowney (Daniel); and three grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel and Lauren Overack.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Daniel E. Overack Ph.D. Endowed Scholarship Fund, Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, 111 W. 17th Street, Tulsa, OK 74107-1898 or to Saint Francis Hospice.
Arrangements are by Hayhurst Funeral Home of Broken Arrow.
