Mrs. Anna M. Tate Stevens 82, of Liberty County (Trade Hill Community) transcended to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Pruitt Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Savannah, Georgia with loved ones by her side.
Anna was born to loving parents, the late Deacon Elliott Tate Sr., and the late Nellie Elease Tate on February 17, 1938.
Anna was united in holy matrimony to the late Deacon Paige Stevens, Jr. on June 1, 1957. This union was blessed with two sons, Bobby and Randy, and one daughter, Sandra.
At an early age Anna was baptized and joined the Palmyra Missionary Baptist Church where she continued to serve with untiring dedication until her passing. She held various positions in the church including Usher Board, Ladies Auxiliaries, Church Clerk, Hospitality Board, and Finance Board.
Anna was employed for many years with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service (Liberty County) with the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. She touched the lives of many adults and youth in this program. Anna also worked with the Coastal Georgia Area Community Action Authority, Inc. of Brunswick, Georgia.
Anna was an original board member of the Seabrook Village Foundation, where she served as President for several years. In addition, she enjoyed volunteering, giving tours of Seabrook Village to hundreds of visitors from around the world.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Deacon Paige Stevens, Jr., and a son Randolph Keith "Randy" Stevens.
To cherish her precious memories she leaves a son, Bobby Leon Stevens; daughters, Sandra Stevens Smalls, and Ashley Stevens (Julius) Roberson; special son, George Stanley (May) Stevens, whom she raised; grandchildren Nathaniel De'Andre Smalls (grandson/son), Alexis Danielle Stevens, Julius Christopher Roberson, III, Wesley Paige Roberson, Andrew Roberson, and Brandi Trotter; brothers and sister, Elliott (Ida) Tate, Leroy (Lois) Tate, Benjamin (Ann) Tate, Ollie Tate Thomas; daughter in law, Linda Stevens; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Franklin (Eureka) Stevens, Edward (Sarah) Stevens, Gloria Golphin, Emma Stevens Fuller, and Rose Tate; godchildren, Jason Thomas, Nicole Minor and Jaala Keiera Thompson; and a host of nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, cousins and friends.
Visitation: 1:00pm – 5:00pm, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the funeral home.
