Beyond this world of toil and care, beyond this veil of gloom. There is a land, a happy land, a place we call our home. For we know by death this house shall be dissolved, we have a house not made with hand.
Mr. Caesar Singleton Jr. at the age of 82, entered his eternal rest at his home on Monday, January 14, 2019. He was born June 26, 1936 to the late Caesar Singleton Sr. and Edith Jones Singleton. He was 1 of 11 children in which 4 brothers and 1 sister proceeded him in death.
He received his education from Liberty County Schools System, where he graduated in 1954. After school he became a brick mason and later became an entrepreneur as a general contractor. He touched many lives thru his handy work of being a skill Brick Mason and General Contractor. When Caesar was not working long hours his favorite hobby was playing baseball as a catcher. In his wife words, which she spoke so passionately, "He was well known as a good catcher."
Caesar married the love of his life Juanita Anderson on August 24, 1957, to this union four children was born. Anthony, Gregory which preceded him in death, Rosalind and Pamela. Three grands, Jaden Anderson, Nicole Freeman and Sabrina Rainey. In 1971 they relocated to Miami, Fla., for a better life and more opportunities to utilize his skills. They spent 47 years there and in March 2018, they moved back to Liberty County to enjoy retirement.
Caesar became an active member at The New Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church, Miami, Fla., where he served as a deacon on the board. After moving back to Georgia, he became a member of The New Anderson Grove Baptist church, where he was a member until death.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and dedicated wife of 62 years, Juanita Singleton. One son, Darrell Anthony Singleton, Riceboro, Ga., two daughters, Rosalind Vanessa (Michael) Welch, Charlotte, N.C., Pamela Sabrina Singleton of Miami , Fla. Three grands, Jaden Anderson, Nicole LaKey Freeman and Sabrina Rainey. Three brothers, Ralph Singleton, Darnel (Janice) Singleton, and Al Preston (Judy) Singleton. Three sisters, Lula Bell Baldwin, Anna Moody and Geneva (Lucious) Riley. Four in-laws, Helen Singleton, Joyce (Sam) Yawn, Lillie Bell (Ben) Fielder and Isaiah (Brenda) Brown. One Aunt, Lois Anderson, Miami, Fla., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A wake will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at the funeral home.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at First Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1642 Barrington Ferry Road, Riceboro, Georgia 31323.
Interment will be in First Anderson Grove Cemetery.
