Ms. Joyce Marie (Perry) Haymans, 84, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2021, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family.
Joyce was born November 1,1936 to the late John Allen Perry, Jr. and Rebecca (Bennett) Perry in Savannah, Georgia. Joyce graduated Valedictorian of the graduating class of '55 at Bradwell Institute. She worked 37 years on Ft. Stewart, Georgia for G-3 and as the records administration officer for Winn Army Hospital. She received many accommodations and awards during her years of service for the United States Army. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Wesley "Billy" Haymans, her son, Kenneth Allen Haymans, her granddaughter, Kelly Ann Moore, and her sister, Ms. Allene Perry Harris.
Mrs. Joyce had many interests, and always loved to do fun things. She loved yard sales, and browsing in antique and consignment shops. Joyce enjoyed eating out with her daughter, Shelly, and being home with her little dogs. But her greatest passions were writing and playing her piano. To be honest, a number could not even be imposed as to the many poems, church pageants, cantatas, and other numerous pieces she had written for folks over the years. Writing and music were her greatest gifts that the Lord bestowed upon her, and she used that God given talent for His work. Joyce started playing the piano at Mt. Olivet Church at the age of nine years old. She faithfully served Mr. Olivet and Fleming Baptist Church for 75 years. People may have said she retired, but she never really did, at least in her heart, and especially in those magical fingers of hers.
Joyce is survived by her son, Charles "Chuck" Wesley Haymans, Jr. and his wife, Karen; her daughter, Kimberly Haymans Richards and her husband, Tom; her daughter, Shelly Marie Haymans and her fiancé, Adam Eller; she is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Speaking as Joyce's daughter, and for the rest of our family, we know our mom would want anyone with a God given talent, no matter what it may be, to use it for the glorification of God. And, to make sure of your salvation, because we all know first hand that life is fleeting. Our mom would also want you to help your neighbor, be kind, love your family with all of your heart and in everything you do, do it for Jesus.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, visits, phone calls, and just loving our mama. We want to especially thank GHC-Georgia Hospice Care. We have never met a finer and more compassionate group of people in our lives. They were there every step of the way, and for that, our family will be forever in their gratitude. For those of you who brought food, what a special group you are, for you not only fed our bellies, you fed our souls with kindness. Thank you from all of us.
From Kimberly Haymans Richards:
"I would like to personally thank my sister-in-law, Mrs. Karen Haymans. She has been on this journey with me since hospice brought our mama home. I wouldn't of made it without her nursing knowledge, her love, and her just being with me. I love you with all of my heart!!! Also, I had a little helper too, Ms. Ansleigh Rae Moore. You were our 'wingman' on the job. Always my girl!!!"
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Fleming Baptist Church.

If you would like to send flowers that is fine, our mama loved beautiful flowers. But we ask if you can and would like to, please donate to Georgia Hospice Care, Alzheimer's Association
, the American Cancer Society
, or a cause near and dear to your heart. So many organizations need funding and anything helps them make it through another day. God bless you from the family of Joyce Perry Haymans.
Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home, Flemington, is handling arrangements.
