Lorrine Stewart Nesbitt was born in Liberty County, Georgia on August 10, 1945 to her loving parents, the late Mr. Reuben Stewart and the late Mrs. Tiny Belle Ellis Stewart. She was received in the presence of the Lord in the evening of Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at Hospice Savannah, Inc. Savannah, Georgia.
Lorrine attended the Liberty County Public School System, and graduated from Liberty County High School in 1963. In 1968, Lorrine married her husband Mr. James Donald Nesbitt, Sr to this union was the birth of nine children. Lorrine spent several of her early years after marriage as a stay at home mother nurturing and caring for the children. Once the children met the age to attend school, Lorrine began her professional career in the hospitality industry, where she worked several years at the Holiday Inn of Richmond Hill, Georgia.
Lorrine was preceded in death by her parents, as well as a son, Master Sergeant Dwayne Lorenzo Nesbitt of the U.S. Army, along with two brothers, Willie Curtis (WC) Stewart and Ruth Curtis Stewart, and her sister, Dorothy Mae Stewart Miller. In addition, Lorrine had eight brothers-in-law, James Miller, George Grant, Robert Miller, Alford Miller, Realus Nebitt, Larry D. Nesbitt, Nathaniel Drayton and Randy Alford; three sisters-in-law, Helen Stewart, Vivian J. Flowers and Retha Miller; and a special niece, Saundra Stewart.
Surviving Lorrine is husband, James Donald Nesbitt, Sr of Liberty County, Georgia; five sons, James Antonio Nesbitt of Hinesville, Georgia, Rodney (Tracy) Nesbitt of Hinesville, Georgia, Victor (Tikisha) Nesbitt of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Terrance (Angela Clark) Nesbitt of Hinesville, Georgia, Gregory (Tondra Ford) Nesbitt of Hinesville, Georgia; three daughters, Shawn Nesbitt, Tonya (Harvey) Grant of Glennville, Georgia, and Samantha Nesbitt; a special granddaughter, Shanay (Tyheed Lambert) Nesbitt of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three sisters, Carolyn Grant, Rosemary Green, Andiana (Ulysses) Moody; brothers-in-law, Dennis L. Flowers of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Quinton F. & Emory C. Nesbitt of Savannah, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Annie Mae Stewart of Liberty County, Georgia, Carletha (Rush) Yancey & Maxine Alford of Newark, New Jersey, Reverend Geraldine Drayton, Donna F. Nesbitt & Veronica L. Nesbitt of Savannah, Georgia, Modie Miller of Fleming, Georgia, Janie & Eula Nesbitt of Moreland, Georgia; a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
Visitation is 6-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 at the funeral home. Funeral services are 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Frank V. Givens Memorial Chapel-Dorchester Funeral Home, 7842 E. Oglethorpe Highway, Midway. Interment is Midway First Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
