SSG (Ret) Su'esu'e Li, Jr., known by many as Sue Li, was called to heaven on December 18, at the age of 69, after a brief battle with cancer.
Sue Li was born January 21, 1951 in American Samoa. He is survived by his wife, Senouefa T. (Jenny) Li; daughter, Elizabeth (Sam Faaliga); son, Su'esu'e Li, Jr. II; grandsons, Elijah Faaliga and Euriah Faaliga; four sisters, Lalelei (Gafa Uilelea), Hana (John Torres), Sina (Lauifi Siva), and Carrie; brother, Seattle (Lynda Faifili); countless nieces, great nieces, nephew and great nephews. Sue Li was predeceased by his parents, Reverend Su'esu'e Li Faifili, and mothers, Elisapeta Sea Li, and step-mother, Felofiaina Faifili, and sister, Rita Fortin.
Sue Li was an Army verteran who served for 20 years with one tour in the Gulf War, and was also stationed in Germany and at several locations in the United States. Sue Li retired from the military in 1994. After his service in the military, he continued to serve his country in the capacity of Prison Guard for Hinesville, as a Sheriff serving in counties of Liberty, McIntosh, and Long County, and as a Police Officer in the city of Ludowici, and as an Assistant Police Chief for the city of Darien.
Sue Li had a big heart and believed in what's right for the people. He was always ready to give a helping hand whenever people needed him. His spirit will live on and everyone will remember his high spirits, his love for music, and being the life of the party. He was a great guy, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Sue Li was loved by many and will be truly missed by his family and friends and will remain forever in our hearts.

Visitation services will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 6:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington with Pastor Filipo Sualevai officiating.
