Mr. Sylvester Richburg (1938 - 2018)

Ret. SFC. Sylvester Richburg of Hinesville, Ga., peacefully departed this world on November 3, 2018, in his home. Mr. Richburg was the son of the late Thomas and Laura Richburg of Philadelphia, Penn. Mr. Richburg honorably served in the United States Army for over 27 years. Mr. Richburg was an exemplary example of a soldier. He also retired from Winn Army Community Hospital as an executive housekeeper, he frequently worshipped at Victory Multicultural Gospel Style Service on Fort Stewart, Ga. Mr. Richburg was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Mr. Richburg is preceded in death by his wife the late Jeanette Criss Richburg, his daughter the late Sharon Anne Anderson, his brothers Donald Richburg, James Richburg (A.K) and Leernice Richburg, his sisters Christine Richburg and Clara Belle Smith.
Mr. Richburg leaves behind to celebrate his life, his sister Ruby Richburg of Philadelphia, Penn., his Aunt Monteen Richburg of Philadelphia, Penn., his two sons, Jerome Thomas Richburg (Sandra) of Stone Mountain, Ga., Sylvester Richburg, Jr., of Waldorf, Maryland, and two daughters Sylvetta Broyles (Robbin) of Savannah, Ga., and Anita Richburg-Scurry of Hinesville, Ga. Mr. Richburg also leaves behind to celebrate his life a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of cousins.
Wake: 6-7 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2018, at Dorchester Funeral Home
Funeral Services: 2 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Frank V. Givens Memorial Chapel – Dorchester Funeral Home, 7842 E. Oglethorpe Hwy, Midway, Georgia 31320.
Interment: Oglethorpe Memorial Park
