To Diane and Bills' families
I spent many an evening with Bill in the work shop at the Players' Guild Of Hamilton designing and building theatre sets with our team of 4 or 5 carpenters of which Bill was a talented member.
Bill had only one way to construct a set piece and that was it had to be built correctly with no flaws. Good enough was never in Bill's vocabulary.
Bill was a master at building on-stage door assemblies including door hardware, hinges, door stops and off-stage supports etc. His test upon final assembly was to slam the door shut. If it stayed shut and did not shake any other part of the set, it was perfect!
Bill has been missed in the Guild workshop since he and Diane moved to BC but I will always remember him and his technical talents and will enjoy thinking of him when we are working on a stage set.
RIP my old friend.

So sorry to hear of Bills passing. He was a great and talented guy! I frequently talk about the wonderful cart he designed and built for the play 'Mother Courage' We had many a wonderful time in the work shop of the Guild, always a laugh amid the work, along with a little drink of that 'brown' pop found in the little frig. We still wear, well my wife does the monogrammed night shirt that Diane and Bill gave us at our wedding do. Our thoughts are are with Diane and family.
