Bruce Franklin Obituary
Bruce Franklin

Fort Collins, - Bruce Franklin, 53, of Fort Collins, died Monday, Oct 29th, in rural Sonoma County, California. Bruce was there doing what he loved - forestry work out in the woods. On that beautiful sunny morning, he collapsed and could not be revived. His passing was peaceful. Bruce's family and friends are grateful for the care and compassion his workmates showed him in his final moments.

Bruce was born and raised in Fort Collins, February 9th, 1965 to William and Elizabeth Depew Franklin. He graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1983, and attended CSU earning two degrees, including one in Forestry. In his professional life Bruce worked as an Urban Forester in Colorado, Wyoming, and Kentucky. Though he never married, Bruce had a group of friends that he was very close to - many of whom he'd know since elementary school. His connection to them, and the bonds they shared, were a mainstay in his life.

Bruce was quick to laugh and a gentle soul. He was a man of Faith and loved cats. It was said of him that he was one of the most non-judgmental and genuine people you'd ever meet. Though he struggled with health problems, he was friendly and always kind. "If more people could be like him this world would be a better place."

Bruce is preceded in death by both parents. His survivors include his sister, Phyllis Franklin of Seattle, cousins, and his friends in many states. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, November 10th, at 3:00 pm at Dayspring Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Larimer Humane Society.
