James Brehon
Fort Collins - James "Jim" Brehon, 80, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 16, 2020 in his Fort Collins home surrounded by family. Jim was born in Greeley, Colorado to Victor and Clara (Hoff) Brehon. He graduated from Greeley High School in 1958. He married Joan Bizzell of Greeley in August of 1960.
He and Joan farmed for 17 years, renting farms around Greeley then purchasing a farm east of Pierce, Colorado. Jim loved farming and always found time to help his parents and brothers on their farms, especially around harvest time. He also enjoyed fishing and sharing his woodworking projects with family and friends.
Eventually they sold their farm in Pierce and were ready for a new adventure owning and managing Manor RV Park and Motel in Estes Park. Summers were busy, with a steady stream of old and new seasonal clientele. Their downtime was spent at their Red Feather Lakes cabin and annual winter trips to Disneyland. After 8 years the Estes business was sold and they became semi-retired, living in Fort Collins. They later retired in Red Feather Lakes High Country Estates becoming active in the community. Jim became a Security Lake Patrolman for the private lakes where he enjoyed trading fish stories with the fishermen. Health reasons forced them off the mountains and they settled back in Fort Collins.
He is survived by his son Mark Brehon; daughter Christine (Mickey) Weirich; grandchildren Rianna Weirich and Rissa Weirich; brothers Mike (Joan) Brehon of Greeley, and David Brehon of Trinidad.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Joan Brehon; sister Caroline Roth; and brother Stanley Brehon.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic a private remembrance will be planned sometime this summer.
Donations in his name can be made to the Salvation Army or a
