Mary "Peggy" Leota Hanson

York, NE - Mary "Peggy" Leota Hanson, age 98 of York, NE died Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at York. She was born on May 27, 1922 to Leonidus E. "Flossie" and Millie (Eagan) Widger in Imperial, NE. She was a graduate of Fort Collins High School in Colorado. In 1942, Peggy was united in marriage to Stanley Hanson in Sidney, NE. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles and loved spending time with her family. She adored her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren and her "family" at the Hearthstone who made her life brighter during her last 9 months under quarantine.

She is survived by her son Curt (Bonnie) Hanson of Loveland, CO and grandchildren: Kate Greenly of Denver, CO, Amy (Michael) Downing of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Tannis Hanson of Redwood City, CA; her daughter Katie (Cy) North of York, NE and grandchildren: Tony (Alison Graham) North of York, NE and Alex North (Dave Stenman) of Denver, CO, and daughter-in-law Bindy Hanson Pasadena, CA and grandchildren Carrianne (Steve) Ludwig of Lake Forest, IL, Casie (Eric) Formiller of Manhattan Beach, CA, and Jacqueline (Matt) Wheeler of Manhattan Beach, CA. Peggy is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, niece Rikki Vitt of Elverta, CA, nephew Jay Bruhl of Oceanside, CA, and nephew Pat (Penny) Widger of Fairfield, CA. nephews Mark & Eric Hanson, and special friends Linda Moore & Vince Kennedy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Kelly, granddaughter Jessica, grandson-in-law Pete, sister Clarissa "Toots" (Fred) Crowe, brother Austin Widger, and brother Floyd "Frog" (Mary) Widger and their son Michael.

Services will be held at a later date in Colorado. Inurnment will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins. Memorials may be directed to York Adopt-A-Pet.

Condolences may be left for the family at Metz Mortuary, York is handling arrangements.
