Our mother, Virvian DeLynn (Dozier) Rivarde, who was mostly known as Lynn, passed away at the age of 83 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, on January 14, 2021. She was born in Strong, Arkansas, but traveled extensively with her family and many friends throughout her life, eventually settling in Golden, Colorado, where she lived for a good number of years.

She volunteered many summers at The Windstar Foundation, worked at the Pepsi Center during Avalanche games which she LOVED, and drove the buses for fans at the Colorado Rockies games. She enjoyed sewing, painting, crafts and working with herbs and aromatherapy. Family and friends were most important to her. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life.

She is survived by Al Rivarde (spouse); four adult children, Donna (Rivarde) Viola, Steven Rivarde, Allison (Rivarde) Banks, Jan (Rivarde) Skelton; grandchildren Ilia, Beverly, Mollie, Marcie, Krista, Amanda, Andrew, Hannah, Garrett and Taylor; and ten great grandchildren.

A memorial will be arranged at a later date.

Today my heart is heavy and joyful. My dear friend Lynn Rivarde suddenly made her transition yesterday. Just last week we talk and laughed about her wanting to come to visit when COVID is over. She always loved Long Beach, when I lived here before she visited and love the ocean. Lynn was a great spirit who was a natural healer, she love her herbs and could always make a tea or salve to help you. She love her native music and read about many cultures, and was very creative. We use to talk and laugh for hours. Lynn was feisty as she could be, yet loving and caring to so many. I will miss our debates, talks, and doing creative things together, gosh, so many things we shared, but you will always be in my heart. I know the Angeles are bringing you back to Creator, so soar my friend soar, be free and I will see you again. Thanks for the journey it has been a blast. Love you my friend.
