Judy Myra Obituary
Judy Myra, 59, of Louisville, passed into the arms of her heavenly father February 13, 2018. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She was born in Colorado Springs, CO the daughter of Mac and Jean McGarvey. She grew up in Fountain, CO graduating from Fountain-Fort Carson High School in 1976. Judy worked for the civil service at the US Air Force Academy and moved to Boulder to work at NOAA. She met the love of her life James (Jim) Myra in Boulder. They married on April 16, 1994. At the time of her passing, Judy was working as an Administrator at Lodestar Research Corporation, Jim's company. Judy and Jim have two daughters, Elizabeth and Anna Marie. She was dedicated to all of their school activities, never missing a play performance, band or choir concert, piano recital or drum line competition. Judy loved to sew, garden, craft and spend time at the family cabin in the mountains. She used her sewing talents making costumes for several local youth theater groups. She loved being around children and was a teacher and mentor to hundreds of kids who attended her Sunday school, vacation bible school, and confirmation classes. Judy had a lifelong faith in God and was a very active member of the Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Louisville. She has a deep compassion for giving to others and volunteered her time at the Boulder Homeless Shelter, Meals on Wheels, Boulder County AIDS Project and Boulder Hospice Respite Care. Judy is survived by her husband Jim, daughters Elizabeth and Anna Marie all of Louisville; parents Mac and Jean McGarvey of Fountain, CO; sister Karen Lambert and her husband Ray of Colorado Springs, CO; sister Lorri McGarvey of Gypsum, CO; niece Torrie Jones, nephews Allen Crews and Thomas Crews; great-nephew August Jones and great-niece Maisie Jones; aunt Betty Barker and husband Lonnie of Boulder; brother-in-law Keith Myra and his wife Cheryl; niece Aly Myra, nephew Tim Myra and brother-in-law Eric Myra. She was preceded in death by her brother Dean McGarvey. A memorial service honoring her life will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at 10:30 am at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Louisville. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Judy's name to the Boulder Homeless Shelter, bouldershelter.org; or Christ the Servant Lutheran Church "ELCA World Hunger" in Louisville.
