Bertha "Toots" Linnebur (87) passed away Sept. 14, 2018. Bertha was born Dec. 18, 1930, to Mary (Rothermaul) and Nicholas Kerson in Roggen. Bertha married Michael Linnebur June 6, 1950, in Roggen.
Bertha attended schools in Roggen and Keenesburg. She was a lifetime resident until moving to Denver in 2008. She worked for Gordon Ibbiotson Insurance and Great Western Sugar. Bertha was a past member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved to decorate cakes for all occasions, a mothering seamstress and a fabulous cook.
Survivors include her children, Kathi (Gary Underwood), Linnebur of Thornton, Mike (Melanie) Linnebur, of Littleton, Cindi (Bab Sandridge) Linnebur, of Lakewood, and Patti (Guy Pease) Linnebur of Lakewood; her brother, Ed (Betty) Kersen, of Arlington, Texas; her sister, Katherine Thompson, of Fort Morgan; her nine grandchildren, Eric, Adam, Tyler, Caleb, Matt, Luke, Jamie, Kayla and Kayee; her nine great-grandchildren, May, Anne, Josiah, Bella, Allesandra, Tomas, Gideon, Gavin and Ethan; and one baby girl on the way.
Her husband in 2012; a son, Ed, in 1999; and two brothers, Frank and Leni Kersen, predeceased her
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton, which handled the arrangements.
The Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 178 S. Sixth Ave., Brighton. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sept. 27 at Fort Logan National Cemetery staging area "A" in Denver.
