With broken hearts, the family of Larry Dean Pegg announces his passing at the age of 68 Dec. 11 after a brave battle with cancer.
Larry was born in Grant, Nebraska, where he lived until moving to Colorado in 1956. In 1971 he married the love of his life, Ruthie, and would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary next year.
Larry was the living embodiment of cheery patience. He greeted every person with a smile and a twinkle in his eye. He treasured his family – children, cousins, aunts, brothers, uncles, parents and grandchildren alike. He delivered propane for Amerigas and Schrader's, spreading his good cheer throughout northern Colorado.
He loved fishing, watching and coaching bowling with his kids, churning homemade ice cream, leather work and Western movies. His sense of humor was legendary. He was well-known in his family for his sense of fun and his impish smile.
His parents, Jack and Dorothy; and his brothers, Kenneth and Leonard, preceded him in death. He will be forever remembered in the hearts of his wife; his children, Alan and Tammy; his grandchildren, Ryan and Katherine; and his numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home, 75 S. 13th Ave., Brighton, which handled the arrangements. Visitation begins at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Fort Lupton with a reception following at The Alli Event Center, 100 S. Third Ave., Brighton.
