Thomas Wayne Zachary, 88, Memphis passed away July 28, 2013 at Signature Health Care of Memphis. Mr. Zachary retired with his wife the late Vinne Mae Plunk Zachary on their farm in Middleton, TN where he resided for 25 years. Mr. Zachary was the son of the late Edna Odene Walls Zachary and James Olin Zachary of Houlka, MS. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters; Marie Quarles and Mable Murphree along with one brother N.E. Zachary. He is survived by two children, Cathy Moore (Ronnie) of Bartlett and James I. Zachary (Christina) of Cordova; four grandchildren, Angela Klein, Greg Moore of Bartlett, and Justin Zachary of Little Rock, AR, and Brennan Zachary of Cordova. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Zachary was known as a kind, caring, and generous man. He was a Christian, and was of the Baptist faith. Wayne was a mechanic for 50 years attending the old General Motors Training Center of Memphis and was well known as the founder of Zachary's Garage which he implemented in 1956. One of his dearest loves along with his family, was his farm life. The family will receive their friends from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday July 30, 2013 at High Point Funeral Home 3788 Summer Ave., Memphis. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday July 31, 2013 at the funeral home with burial to follow at 2 p.m. in McNairy County at Maggie Jones Memorial Church and Cemetery.
