Alice Parker Canale

Memphis, TN

Alice Parker Canale, a truly lovely lady, was born August 4, 1920. She graduated from Hutchison School and attended Fairmont Junior College in Washington, D.C. Volunteerism was a very important part of her life. She served as president of the following organizations: Immaculate Conception Mothers Club, Homebuilders Auxiliary, Field and Garden Club, Dilettantes, and The Woman's Exchange. She thoroughly enjoyed serving as manager of the Woman's Exchange for over ten years. As a member of the Junior League of Memphis she spent hours transcribing books to braille for the blind. She also served on the regional nominating board of the Junior League. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert L. "Bert" Parker and Florence Townes Parker, an infant daughter Kennon Canale, and her husband of 52 years Dominic Anthony "D.A." Canale.

Regardless of the circumstances Alice rose to the challenge with grace of demeanor and an innate sense of kindness. She leaves four daughters, Alexis West (Tom), Arnette Tenent (Frank), Janis Hasen (Howard), Alice Rush (Paul), and son Dominic Canale, as well as twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

A visitation will be 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 6th at Canale Funeral Directors, with a rosary to begin at 6:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7th at St. Peter Catholic Church and will be followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please send memorials to St. Peter Church, Monastery of St. Clare, or The Woman's Exchange.
