Audrey Greene Raiford Obituary
Audrey Greene Raiford

Memphis, TN

Audrey Greene Raiford, 88, of Memphis passed away on April 26, 2017. She was born August 18, 1928 in Blytheville, AR to her parents Harvey S. Greene and Ophelia Milam Greene. She graduated from Potts Camp High School in Potts Camp, MS. She was married to Rev. Robert H. Raiford (Bob) (now deceased) for over 64 years. Both Audrey and her husband were involved in church ministry for many years in Fairoaks & Snow Lake, AR. She was an active member teaching Sunday School over the years at National Avenue Baptist Church, Grahm Heights Baptist and recently Berclair Baptist Church. She was employed over 20 years with Memphis Furniture Manufacturing Company and was selected to represent the company in the Memphis Cotton Carnival. Later she retired from Raiford's Shoe Stores in Memphis. Audrey was a very good cook and enjoyed cooking for family on special occasions-birthdays and holidays. She and her husband, Bob, entertained family and friends each year for the traditional 4th of July picnic-Rain or Shine. Audrey was a very loving Big Sister to all our family and we will surely miss her. Life in our family will not be the same as she was always there when we needed her. She leaves behind her brother, Glenn F. Greene, her sisters, Nora Sue Robinson (her faithful caregiver for many years), and Violet (Vickie) Muschiano; brother-in-laws, John L. Robinson (now deceased) and Kenneth Muschiano; nephews, Ronald Robinson, Anthony Muschiano, Mark Raiford, David, Walter & Phillip Bemis; nieces, Grace Price, Shelly Acree and Phyllis Scruggs as well as many great nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be sent to Berclair Baptist Church, 4584 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122, where she was a member. Family will receive friends from 12-2 pm on May 1, 2017 with funeral services to begin at 2 pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue.
