Memphis, TN

Betty N. Lippitt, 83, of Hattiesburg, died May 25, 2017, at Asbury Hospice. Visitation will be Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg from 2 p.m. until the memorial service at 3 p.m. Mrs. Lippitt was a member for several years at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Memphis, TN, where the entire family went to church. She worked for Firestone in Memphis where she met her true love, John Edward "Buddy" Lippitt. They were married in 1955 until his passing in 2005. After his death, she moved to Hattiesburg. She loved to play golf, play cards, go dancing and working in her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. "Buddy" Lippitt, Jr.; her parents, Henry and Anna Bell Richie; one daughter, Elizabeth Nell Snead; one son, John Edward "Eddie" Lippitt; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Bonita Martin, Carolyn and Dooley Mason. She is survived by one daughter, Marcy Everette (Anthony) of Hattiesburg; one son, Michael Lee Freeman of Memphis, TN; one brother, Henry Richie of Childersburg, AL; two sisters, Barbara Romine (Rick) of Cullman, AL, Brenda Martin (Larry) of Lawrenceville, GA; brother-in-law, Randy Martin of AL; five grandchildren, Nick Everette of Hattiesburg, Chip Gibson of Tupelo, Brittany Freeman of Nettleton, MS, Joe Lippitt of Schaumburg, IL, Jamie Lippit Cash (Joshua) of Canton, GA; and five great-grandchildren.
