Callie, widow of Jessie James Harmon, Sr., transitioned to be with her Lord on March 9, 2017. Callie was a long-time member of Castalia Missionary Baptist Church. Callie served in a number of roles at Castalia: Sunday School teacher and superintendent; Vacation Bible School leader and teacher; Easter and Christmas pageants, church picnics and renovation projects organizer; and the Mother Board. Callie volunteered with Parent-Teacher Organizations at Magnolia and Cromwell Elementary Schools, and Hamilton High School. She worked in numerous community organizations. Callie worked as private duty nurse for many years and received the Mayor's Declaration from Mayor Willie Herenton.

Callie leaves to mourn her passing: her sister, Bernice Eggerson (Memphis); her brother, LeRoy Walton, Jr. (Detroit); brother-in-law, Robert Harmon, Sr. (Memphis). She also leaves her children: Luther Harmon, Sr. (Chicago); Deborah Harmon Hines (Worcester, MA); Margaret Ann Woods (Memphis); Randolph G. Harmon (Birmingham); and Tony R. Harmon (O'Fallon, IL); and a host of children and great grandchildren.

The Celebration of Callie's life will take place on Saturday, March 18, at Castalia Baptist Church, 2180 Airways Boulevard, Memphis. Visitation will take place 10-11 am, with the home going service immediately following at 11:30 am. Burial will immediately follow at Elmwood Cemetary.
