"CC", as she was fondly known by her children and grandchildren, passed away on May 10, 2018. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Allan, she was born on November 8, 1935. She was the wife of the late James Alfred Taylor, Jr., and the late Robert McLean Crump, Jr.

Carita graduated from The Hutchison School in Memphis and Bennett College in New York. She was an All-Star Memphis sorority basketball player and also rode three and five-gaited horses in her childhood.

A fun-loving, loyal, and caring mother, grandmother, and friend, Carita was the epitome of sophistication and elegance. She faced all of life with grace, dignity and her keen, inimitable sense of humor. She adored spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all of them

She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, the Memphis Garden Club, Memphis Junior League, and the Memphis Hunt and Polo Club.

She is survived by her three children, Carita Palmer (Alston), Louise Turley (Calvin), Robert McLean Crump, III, and her five grandchildren, McLean Palmer, Allan Palmer, Taylor Vandersteenhoven, Robert Crump, IV, and Avery Crump.

Her memorial service will be held in the chapel at Second Presbyterian Church on Friday, May 18, at 2:00 p.m.
