Mr. Rider, 67, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017, at his residence in Olive Branch, MS. Visitation will be Monday, September 25, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, September 25, at 12 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Southwoods Memorial Park in Memphis, TN. Bro. Michael Weeks will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch is in charge of arrangements.

Charlie was born in Memphis, TN on July 7,1950 . He was a Master Electrician and a member of IBEW Local Union 474 for over 25 years.

Charlie was a PFC E-3 Army veteran who served as a USA15 Field Radio Mechanic. He was also a decorated sharpshooter. Charlie was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and loved to build and fly model airplanes. Some of his favorite hobbies included scuba diving, fishing and being a ham radio operator (KA4Z). He also had a passion for music and could play many instruments including guitar, drums and keyboard.

Mr. Rider is survived by his wife, Lou Lou Rider of Olive Branch, MS; his son, Joey (Stacy) Rider of Olive Branch, MS; his daughter, Leia (Eddie) Hendrix of Byhalia, MS; his grandchildren, Keely Rider, Bea Rider, Stephanie (Kyle) Pilkington, Destiney Hendrix, Rider Hendrix, and Gray Hendrix; his two sisters, Rosemary (Brad) Parsley and Pam (Andy) Erikson, both of Memphis, TN and his father and mother-in-law, Clayton and Betty McKee of Ripley, MS.

Mr. Rider was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Beatrice Rider, and his father, Mr. Joseph Rider.
