Ellendale, TN

Clyde Austin Morgan, 86, of Ellendale, TN died on Sunday, January 22, 2017, after a short illness. He was a member of Leawood (Macon) Baptist Church for 49 years and an active member in the men's Sunday School Class and Senior Adult Ministry. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 27 years from MLG&W and 20 years as a bus driver for Shelby County Schools. Mr. Morgan was a Scout Master for Troop 200 for 12 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Austin Morgan and Claire Myrtle Newsom and his brother Bobby Gene Morgan. Mr. Morgan leaves his wife Helen Morgan of 69 years, his children; Ricky (Pam) Morgan of Bartlett, TN, Nancy (Larry) Hill of Bartlett, TN, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sister Nell Ray of Germantown, TN; two sisters-in-laws, Barenice Morgan of Memphis and Jean Hodges of Olive Branch, MS; a brother-in-law Hugh Hodges of Collierville, TN, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m., until service time at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 25 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Bartlett, TN 38133. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Leawood Baptist Church.
