David Martin Fargotstein, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, found peace on June 5, 2017 at the age of 35.

David is survived by his parents, Kay (Bill) Abernathy and Shep (Margaret) Fargotstein, both of Memphis, TN; maternal grandmother Virginia Hess of Heber Springs, AR; siblings Sam (Rebecca) and Molly Fargotstein, Lauren and Josh Goldstein, and Will (Jessica) Abernathy. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a niece.

He will be remembered by many friends and loved ones throughout Memphis, Boston, New Orleans, Baltimore, New York, and elsewhere around the world, all of whom have been impacted by David's unconditional love. The world is a better place because David was in it.

David was born on January 3, 1982 in Memphis, TN. He graduated from White Station High School in 2000. After which, he attended Maryland Institute College of Art, where he was awarded the Presidential Scholarship for his artistic achievements. David was a talented artist, musician, and avid reader who was always thirsting for knowledge. David found his greatest joy spending time with his family.

David loved, and is loved, deeply.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 8, in the Levy-Cooper Chapel at Temple Israel Cemetery, 1708 Hernando Road, Memphis, TN. All are welcome to attend and celebrate David's life.
