Edith "Edye" Davidson Reiter died on October 4, 2017, at Baptist Hospital of Memphis. She was ninety - nine years old as her birthday was June 25, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Abraham and Sarah Rankin Davidson. Edye was the widow of Murray Reiter, to whom she was married for over 53 years. She was a life member of the National Council of Jewish Women and Hadassah, also a past president of Temple Israel Sisterhood. She was certified by the Library of Congress as a Braille transcriber and helped to reproduce books for blind children in public schools and was a Life Master at Bridge. The family invites friends to a reception celebrating their mother's life on Friday, the 6th of October from half past one until funeral services begin at three o'clock in the afternoon, all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Rabbi Micah Greenstein will lead the service. Burial will follow the funeral in the original section of Temple Israel Cemetery. Mrs. Reiter is survived three children Marilyn (John) Blumbeks, Carl Reiter, and Ronnye (Dale) Kendrick; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and her beloved caregiver, Gloria Butler.
