Edward Mauro Garavelli, 69, of Memphis died June 26, 2017 at Methodist University Hospital. He was born May 5, 1948 in Memphis, TN.

A lifelong Memphian, Ed graduated from St. Paul Catholic School then Oakhaven High School in 1966. He attended Memphis State University majoring in graphic design. Ed spent most of his career as a sales executive starting with J. W. Moore Printing Company, co-owner of Pinnacle Press, then retiring from Toof Printing Company.

Ed was passionate about many things, especially eating, cooking, painting, and traveling. He could see beauty in all of God's creation. He was a creative, artistic, sensitive soul. Ed's recent health battles began with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and he will be forever grateful to Monsignor Val Handwerker for his selfless gift of his kidney in 2011 which gave him a few more years of better health. During this last year, Ed and Jerri were fortunate to have the staff at Satelitte Wellbound Dialysis train and support them in successfully administering home-hemodialysis. He enjoyed life to the fullest in spite of health issues, until his untimely fall approaching the Big River Crossing on June 7. Ed loved his Christian faith and his church, The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil J Garavelli; mother, Frances A. Garavelli and infant brother, Cecil J. Garavelli, Jr.

Ed is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jerri Garavelli; brother, Ron Garavelli of Madison, MS, stepbrother, Jeff Boschert (Pam), stepmother, June Garavelli, nephew, C.J Garavelli (Ashley) Madison, MS. He is also survived by his nieces, Frances LaPlant (Justin) Flowood, MS, Shannon Cain (Mike) Oxford, MS and many beloved aunts, cousins, great-nieces and a great-nephew.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception followed by Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the church before inurnment in Calvary Cemetery.
