Evangelist Shirley A.C. Brown affectionately known as "Granny", at the age of 75, traded this earthly labor for her eternal crown and reward on Thursday, March 30, 2017. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants." Psalm 116:15. She was preceded in death by her parents, Able Conner Jr. and Virginia Lee Conner, three brothers, Noble, Able Jr., and Amos, one sister, Annette. She leaves treasures of love with the love of her life, her husband of 54 years, Lewis G. Brown Jr., her five beautiful children, Sherman (Dee) Brown of Fayetteville, Ark., Marlon (Mary) Brown, Marlene (Gerald) Coleman, Eric Brown and Thomas Spates Brown, all of Memphis, TN, twenty-two grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one brother, Darron (Phyllis) Conner of Carson, California, four sisters, Dorothy V. Parker of Washington, D.C., Janice C. White of Memphis, TN, Sharron (Lee) Donavon of Long Beach, California and Cornelia Ann (Trevor) Godwin of Washington State and a host of other relatives and friends.

Shirley was a graduate of Melrose High School Class of 1960. She retired from the Veterans Hospital as a Social Worker and she was a faithful and former member of Temple of Deliverance C.O.G.I.C. where she was ordained as an Evangelist. She was a very active member under the leadership of the late Presiding Bishop Gilbert E. Patterson and Evangelist Louise Patterson. She later moved her membership to her son in-law's, Bishop Gerald Coleman Sr., church, Faith Keepers International Cathedral where she remained a faithful servant until her death. She was deeply loved by her church family and will be greatly missed.

Family will receive friends for a visitation as they honor her legacy on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Faith Keepers International Cathedral, 3362 Jewel Road, Memphis, TN 38128. Her homegoing celebration service will take place on Friday, April 7, 2017 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Golden Gate Cathedral, 3240 James Road, Memphis TN 38128. Bishop Gerald Coleman Sr. officiating. Interment will immediately follow at New Park Cemetery, 4536 Horn Lake Rd, Memphis, TN 38109, where a Dove release will conclude the service.
