Felix Glasneck Obituary
Felix Glasneck

Germantown, TN

Felix Glasneck, beloved husband, father and friend, passed away August 8, 2018 at the age of 83 years old. Felix was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 1, 1935 to Lucie and Felix Glasneck Sr., who emigrated from Germany and met in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating Tuley High School in Chicago, Felix served in the Air Force for 4 years, and went on to graduate from Lewis Tech College with an aircraft and powerplant license. Working for Continental Airlines and General Electric's Jet Engine division allowed Felix and his family to travel the world and live in Japan, Italy, France, Germany, and Canada as he faithfully served GE's airline customers. He literally gave his family the world. During his time at GE, Felix also served as the GE on-site engine representative for FedEx, which began a long family connection with the city of Memphis. In retirement, Felix and his wife of 58 years, Erika, returned to Memphis to be close to their family and friends. He and his family spent many fun evenings together and have wonderful memories. Felix was always a generous, kind, and gentle person who never said a bad word about anyone. Felix wanted to be remembered as a happy-go-lucky guy, and those who knew him can attest that this truly describes his loving spirit. Felix will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Erika, his daughter, Ramona (Phil), his sons Rick and Ron, and his grandchildren Sabrina (Scott) and Matthew. We will remember Felix by gathering for a celebration of his life on August 24th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Salvation Army of Memphis, Felix's favorite community organization.
