Frances Lucinda Gwynn Davis

Somerville, TN

Frances Lucinda Gwynn Davis, 96, of Somerville, wife of the late Thomas Edward "Ted" Davis, died October 3, 2017. Services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, October 6, at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Interment will be in Somerville City Cemetery. Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, October 6, at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Davis was born May 30, 1921, the daughter of the late Garland Ray Gwynn and Lula Mae Tacker Gwynn. She was a lifelong resident of Somerville and a graduate of Fayette County High School Class of 1939. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Somerville where she taught the RA's and GA's. She loved being involved with the youth and the Sunbeam preschool kids. She was a member of the Eastern Star, where she served as a Worthy Matron and enjoyed cooking, dancing, playing piano, playing cards, music, singing and sewing. She leaves two daughters, Joyce Davis Rhodes of Memphis, Patricia Davis Chambers (Terry) of Brownsville; three sons, John Albert Davis, Sr. of Gadsden, Garland Edward Davis (Tracey) of Somerville, Donald Ray Davis of Somerville; brother, Thomas Ray Gwynn of Tullahoma; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Edna Louise Gwynn Lucas, Mary Lee Boldreghini and brother, John Albert Gwynn. Memorials: Crockett County Carl Perkins Center in Alamo, TN.
