Frances Eugenia Brandon Jacobs, born in Jackson Mississippi, March 19, 1932, passed away peacefully at home April 20, 2017. She was 85.

Frances or "Sister" as she was known by her family, was raised in Hattiesburg Mississippi. She attended University of Southern Mississippi where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Jacobs; parents, Reginald Wilson Brandon Sr. and Amelia Boggan Brandon; brothers, Wilson, Russell, David & Gene Brandon, and sister, Elizabeth Brandon Peery. She is survived by daughter, Sharon Jacobs Smith (Craig) of Clermont, Florida; son, John E. Jacobs Jr. of Memphis and sisters, Margaret Ann Johnson, Cindy Brandon and Betty Jo Brandon. We also cannot forget her beloved cat "Tiger".

"Miss Frances" as she was affectionately called by her students retired in 2008 from teaching at Children's World Learning Center. She also taught Sunday school for many years at Woodland Presbyterian Church. Her special interests and hobbies would include raising a family, an avid reader, caring for God's creation through gardening and being a member of the Memphis Garden Club. She enjoyed traveling for many years with her daughter throughout the United States and Mexico.

Her family wants to thank Crossroads Hospice for your kindness and support. We are humbled by the care and compassion shown to us by all of you. Betty Jo, our amazing aunt, thank you for your love and care to our Mother the last months of her life. We thank you for making this last memory of her one of dignity and grace.

The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 12-1 p.m., Wednesday, May 17. Graveside services will immediately follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
