Dr. Frances K. Flagg of Memphis, TN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 8, 2018. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee to the loving embrace of her mother, the late Mrs. Lillian Nance Knight and a proud father, the late Mr. Habakkuk Knight.

Frances was the quintessential modern-day women of faith. Raised in a era when people of color and women faced extraordinary odds and obstacles, Dr. Frances Flagg was propelled by a faith that allowed her to grow, inspire, and achieve much success throughout her life.

As a lifetime member of the historical Temple Church of God in Christ, Frances had the wonderful opportunity to sit at the feet of the denomination's founding father, Bishop Charles Harrison Mason. She was a faithful and loyal servant and gave dedicated service to the Church of God in Christ, Inc. on all levels and in various capacities. She labored untiringly in many ministries at Temple and utilized her administrative skills to spearhead numerous successful programs. Thousands of local citizens came to know Dr. Flagg by the vibrant, articulate, and engaging voice that introduced the well-known Temple Church Radio broadcast on the nation's first black owned radio station, WDIA 1070.

A wake and memorial service is planned for Dr. Flagg on Friday, September 14 from 5-7 p.m. at Temple COGIC, 672 South Lauderdale Street. The funeral will take place Saturday, September 15 at 1 p.m. at Christ Missionary Baptist Church, 480 South Parkway East. Burial following funeral at Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery.
