He attended Vollintine Elementary, Snowden School, and Central High School. He then earned his undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University ('64). In February 1965 he joined the US Navy as a commissioned officer aboard the USS Intrepid CVS-11 where he served faithfully until being honorably discharged in January 1968 having been promoted the rank of Lieutenant JG. After leaving the Navy he returned to Vanderbilt to earn his Juris Doctorate ('71). Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Gordon Keith Rogers and Josephine McKelvey Rogers. He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Mary Lydick Rogers; his brother, David Louis Rogers (Brenda); his son, Gordon Keith Rogers III; his granddaughter, Josephine Dupuy Rogers, and a number of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Keith and Mary have been faithful members of Germantown Presbyterian Church for over 24 years. Keith gave consistently of his time and talents over the years, serving on the boards of Porter Leath and the MS Society. He found joy volunteering at Agape Child and Family Services, tutoring children at the Neighborhood Christian Center and visiting veterans at the VA Hospital. Keith practiced law for over forty years, serving both individuals and businesses with his ironclad integrity, sharp mind, and service-oriented heart. His surviving family will miss his wit and humor, and his infectious curiosity about a diverse list of subjects. To his family and friends alike, he passed on his love and ability to find beauty in so many artistic forms, from poetry and prose to architecture, sculpture to film. The Rogers family will receive visitors on Friday, June 8 at their home from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Germantown Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 9 at 1:30 p.m., with a private interment in the Germantown Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden for family later in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Germantown Presbyterian Church Music Fund. Keith was an avid supporter of the music program at Germantown Presbyterian Church and could be found most Sundays after church standing behind the pulpit watching the organist playing the postlude.
