Ironium "Jim" Boila, 88, died on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN. Of Romanian descent, Jim was born in Youngstown, OH to the late John and Elizabeth Boila. He joined the U.S. Navy during WWII and deployed on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Enterprise and the U.S.S. Missouri Battleship where the Japanese Instrument of Surrender was later signed to end the war. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, daughter Jane Elizabeth Basinger, brother John Boila, and sisters Helen Cavalero and Rachael Formacelli. He is survived by his sons David (Lisa) and Bill Boila; son-in-law Bill Basinger; grandchildren Alexa Basinger, David Boila, and Mylissa Santiago; and six great-grandchildren.
