James Harvey Obituary
James Harvey

Bartlett, TN

James Harvey, age 74, entered into His Father's House on September 27, 2017, after a fall from the steps in his home. He fought valiantly, enduring a life saving spine surgery and massive head injury. All the prayers of those who loved him were answered in God's perfect will, as He took his child Home.

James played football for the Ole Miss Rebels and the Oakland Raiders where he made friendships and memories that far exceeded any score on the scoreboard. His career was in the trucking industry with his last job with Cary Oil.

He was husband of his beloved wife, Peggy, and was preceded in death by their daughter, Jennifer. Their son, Brit and daughter-in-law, Paige gave them their greatest treasures, their three grandchildren, Paden, Izabella and Olivia. James also leaves behind his precious Scottish Terrier, Rosie.

He was the son of the late Charlene Hatch Harvey and James Britton Harvey, Sr. He is survived by his brother, Randy (Deborah) and sisters, Camelia Noblin, Valoree Griffing and Vickie Hill (Keith). He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard and sister, Debbie Waggoner. He had so many nephews and nieces he was so proud of.

Funeral services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Friday, October 6th, with the Rev Rob Mullins presiding. Visitation will be at 9:00-10:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at the cemetery of Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers one of James' favorite charities was The Wounded Warriors Project.

There will be a luncheon at the Funeral Home in the Parkside Event Center following the burial.
