John Morgan Boughton, 69, of Memphis, died Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was born September 30, 1947, in Vicksburg, MS, the son of Ann Louise Edgerly. He was adopted by Roger Charles Boughton on May 31, 1961.

John earned his GED while serving in the US Army between 1967 and 1970. He served as Specialist 4 stationed across Europe and Germany. In 1970, he started his 30+ year career with International Harvester/Case. He worked in many roles including General Manager of Uzbekistan, and established Delta Efficiency Consultants, supporting Case equipment. He finished his career with RBR Enterprise. He met Lilie Williams and was later married in 1996, and lived in Memphis, TN. He enjoyed traveling, working his career, flying RC planes, his church, and spending time with his family and friends, most especially during the holidays.

He is survived by his wife Lilie Boughton; three children, James (Jim) Boughton, Elaine and Brian (husband) Whitten, Jonathan (Jon) and Michelle (Wife) Williams; four sisters, Mary Ann Bush, Patricia Ernst, Teresa Boughton, Yvonne Fowler; seven grandchildren, John Morgan Boughton, Kyle Boughton, Taylor Williams, Kaylie Whitten, Brylie Whitten, Marcus Christian Williams, and Thomas Gavin Williams.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ann Briggs, and brother, Raymond Boughton.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 3pm in Highland Heights Presbyterian Church in Cordova, TN with Reverend Dr. Tim Foster administering. Following will be graveside services at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Bartlett, TN. All flowers and donations can be sent directly to the church.
