A devoted mother, real estate broker and educator passed away in Franklin, Tennessee on August 30, 2017 surrounded by family. Born in Woodbury, Tennessee on November 13, 1931, she graduated from Nashville's Central High School in 1950 and from Middle Tennessee State University in 1954. Joyce then moved to Memphis where she met her future husband, David Andrews. After their two sons were born, Joyce took up residential real estate sales where in the sixties, women with young children were not allowed to join the Board of Realtors. Many years later she was especially proud of being elected the first woman President of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors in 1987. Along the way, she built her company, Heritage Homes, into one of the largest real estate firms in Memphis. Throughout her career, she was active in real estate on local, state and national levels and won many honors for her devoted service to advancing her beloved industry. She was predeceased by her mother, Pearle Scott McMillen and father, Benton McMillen, her sister, Rubye Boehms, and husband David Andrews, Sr. In addition to her sons, David and Scott Andrews and daughter-in-law, Faith Andrews, survivors include sisters, Ruth McGee and Barbara Ann Huffakre of Nashville and her adored grandchildren William and Abigail Andrews of Franklin, Tennessee as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home on Friday, September 1, 2017, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., with burial in Southwoods Memorial Park at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, her family encourages a donation to the in her memory.
