Katherine Haney Bartlett Obituary
Katherine Haney Bartlett

Memphis, TN.

Katherine Haney (Kitty) Bartlett, 90, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer. A 1944 graduate of Central high School, Kitty had three separate careers: switchboard operator for Weil Brothers Cotton for 11 years, an adoring mother and housewife for the next 18 years and a business tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service for the next 20 years before retiring in 1993. She was an active member of Underwood and Colonial Park United Methodist Churches. She lived her last 6 years of total independence at Kirby Pines Retirement Community. Kitty was often seen driving friends to doctor appointments and to church, playing some serious games of Joker in the Kirby Pines card room or in the dining room with her dear friends at table 38. She was a blessing to everyone in her church, residents and staff members at Kirby Pines and her family. Her laugh, sense of humor and wit will be missed by all. Kitty was preceded in death by a son, William Robert (Bob) Bartlett, Jr. and a sister, Mary Francis (Berry) Cleaves. She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, David and Susan of Memphis. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-7pm at Memorial Park. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1pm in the Riverside Chapel, also at Memorial Park. Memorials may be sent to Colonial Park UMC, 5330 Park Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.
