Lam Bach Obituary
Lam Bach

Memphis, TN

Lam Bach, born May 8, 1965, age 51, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Regional One Hospital in Memphis Tennessee following a brief illness.

He was born in My Tho, Vietnam to Sung Bach and Dao Dang and was the second oldest of seven children. He narrowly escaped from the Vietnam War at the age of 17 with his oldest brother Hung Bach and his younger sister Jessica Bach. They came Iowa in 1983 through Vi Bach's, his uncle, sponsorship. After graduating from North High School, he attended Job Corps in Waco, TX, and later moved to Tennessee to work at Smith & Nephew Orthopedics.

He is survived by mother Dao Dang of Vietnam; wife Bich Le; daughter Julie Bach; son Matthew Tung Bach, older brother Hung Bach of Texas; younger sister Jessica Bach of Texas; younger sister and best friend, Hanh Bach; younger sisters of Vietnam, Tuyen Bach, Thao Bach, and Tien Bach; uncle Vi Bach of Memphis.

Lam had a great passion for the outdoors and waters. He grew up near the seaside, so he adored fishing and visiting beaches whenever possible. He also loved hunting wild deer, dining with his family, and playing the guitar. His favorite activity was vacationing with his family to Vietnam. He spent the last few months of his life telling his children stories about his miraculous journey from a penniless immigrant to an honorable, unforgettable and successful father. Above all else, he valued his family most and was the most selfless, virtuous man who was willing to sacrifice his own happiness for the benefit of his own children.

A funeral service will be held April 22, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bartlett beginning at 10AM.
