Leon Hampton

Pontotoc, MS

Leon Hampton, 87, passed away June 27, 2017 in Collierville, TN. Leon Hampton was born in Marshall Co. MS and grew up in a large family on a farm in Collierville, TN. He worked hard all of his life and was grateful for work. He had a successful sales career that started with Colonial Bread Co. where he was promoted to supervisor. He continued selling in the food industry until his retirement with Hardin's Sysco in 1991. In his retirement he enjoyed caring for his nephew's daughter Lindsay and he never shied away from work that needed to be done around the house. Leon was kind, generous and loving. He developed Alzheimer's and continued to be kind, generous, and loving throughout his illness. He was a good and prayerful man who loved God and loved people. He will be remembered for never putting off until tomorrow what you can do today, his love of life, twinkling blue eyes and contagious laughter. We will miss him. He will always be in our hearts.
