Lise (Barzizza) McCormack Obituary
Lise Barzizza McCormack

Memphis, TN

Lise Barzizza McCormack passed away peacefully in Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday, August 31, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Lise was born on December 5, 1957, in Stuttgart, Germany, to Ramona S. Barzizza and Frank J. Barzizza. A lifelong resident of Memphis, Tennessee, she is a graduate of St. Mary's Episcopal School and attended Hollins College in Virginia and Vanderbilt University.

A person overflowing with energy and spirit, Lise was a dedicated mother, sister, friend and co-worker. Her 29-year career at FedEx was distinguished by having been recognized with the 2015 Five Star Award, the highest individual recognition awarded by the company. Most recently, she served as Manager, IT, Go To Market. Known by her coworkers as tenacious, kind and dedicated, Lise forged many professional bonds that became lifelong friendships.

Lise was passionate about her alma mater, St. Mary's Episcopal School, and the many friends that gathered around her and supported her in extraordinary ways through her illness. Lise served on the St. Mary's Alumnae Board of Directors.

But, her love and dedication to her family was her priority. Lise leaves two children that she adored-her son Randolph McPherson (Mac) McCormack and his wife Ashley Brooke McCormack of Southaven, Mississippi, and her daughter Molly Spearing McCormack of Fayetteville, Arkansas. In addition, she leaves one sister, Mary Celeste Stallings and her husband John of Richmond Virginia, and three brothers, F. John Barzizza and his wife Laura of Austin, Texas, Thomas M. Barzizza of Memphis, and Paul Edward Barzizza and his wife Elizabeth of Cincinnati, Ohio. Lise also leaves five nephews-George, Frank, Jack, Michael and Will-as well as four nieces-Emily, Sophie, Avery and Megan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ramona S. Barzizza and Frank J. Barzizza.

Lise was a person of deep and abiding faith and was a lifelong member of St. Louis Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM on Monday, September 4th at St. Louis Catholic Church, with Funeral Mass following at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to either St. Mary's Episcopal School or St. Louis Catholic Church.

The family also expresses its heartfelt thanks for the extraordinary care and comfort provided by Methodist Hospice Residence.
