Lorenzo Dow Crews, 93, went to be with the Lord April 18, 2017. Dow was preceded in death by parents Margaret and Ormand Crews, Sr., brothers Mortimer and Ormand Crews, Jr., sisters Julia Berry and Kate Hooks, and wife of 39 years, Jeanne Burke Crews.

A devoted brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Dow is survived by sister Margaret Warren, children Bob Crews (Sandy), Barbara Bailey, and Rick (Kathy) Crews, as well as six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Born in Memphis, TN, Dow served in the United States Army during the Allied invasion of France in WWII achieving the rank of Technical Sargent. Wounded in combat, Dow was awarded the Bronze Star for his heroic efforts leading a platoon that suffered heavy losses and later was awarded the French Legion of Honor by the French Government.

An avid golfer, Dow served as the credit manager at Federated (Goldsmith's) department store for over 30 years and was a lifelong member of Mullins United Methodist Church which was founded by his great-grandfather, Thomas Mullins. Visitation will be held Tuesday April 25, from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Mullins United Methodist Church and will be followed by funeral service and burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
