Louise Shrader (Fifi) Cannon Obituary
Louise (Fifi) Shrader Cannon

Memphis, TN

Louise (Fifi) Shrader Cannon passed away peacefully at her home in Memphis, TN, surrounded by her family. Born in Camby, MN on September 28, 1919 to John M. and Della Shrader, she grew up with her sisters, Catherine and Mabel, in Marshall, MN. Louise graduated with honors from Carlton College majoring in music, her lifelong passion. After college she moved to New York to attend post graduate school before returning to Minnesota to work for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. There she met and married Bland W. Cannon, MD. Although involved in many civic and community organizations, including the Memphis Symphony League, her primary focus was always her family. She was a faithful member of Idlewild Presbyterian Church for more than 65 years and served the congregation in many capacities.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Bland and her eldest son, Bland Jr. as well as her sisters, Catherine and Mabel. She leaves her four sons John (Maggie), Henry (Christy), Charles (Dinky), Marty (Nanny), 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Idlewild Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 4th at 10 am with visitation following the service.

Memorials can be made to the Louise Cannon Music Trust at Idlewild Presbyterian Church.
