Magnus Glen Christon, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, was born on April 14, 1967, to Mildred and Edward Lee Christon.

Magnus graduated from Whitehaven High School in 1985, ranking in the top five of his graduating class. In the spring of 1988, Magnus proudly became a member of the Nu Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. In 1990, he graduated from Stanford University, with a Bachelors in English Literature and African American Studies.

After graduation, Magnus became a consultant specializing in special events fundraising and worked for a number of organizations such as, the National Civil Rights Museum, the California African American Museum, Credit Suisse First Boston, Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta. While advancing in his career, Magnus kept a close connection to his alma mater, Stanford University, through the Black Alumni Association. After working as an independent consultant for over 10 years, Magnus took his talents to Clark Atlanta University in 2013. He was the Corporate/Foundation/Special Giving Manager in the Office of Institutional Advancement and University Relations. He held this position until his death.

On Tuesday, June 27, 2017, Magnus transitioned to his heavenly home. His laughter, smile, loveable personality will be missed by family, and friends across the nation.

Magnus leaves to cherish his most precious memories his mother, Mildred Irene Christon, an older brother, Charles Edward Henry, and an older sister, Linda Henry Robertson (James Sr.) Magnus also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and special friends. He was preceded in death with his father, Edward Lee Christon, and older brother, Bryant Lee Christon.

His celebration of life will be held, Wednesday July 5 at M.J. Edwards and Sons Funeral Home, Whitehaven Chapel. Visitation is at 10 a.m. Service begins at 12 noon.
