Margaret Hooks Wilson Obituary
Margaret Hooks Wilson

MEMPHIS, TN

After a long and full life, Margaret Hooks Wilson, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 1, 2017.

Margaret was born January 20, 1927 to Elizabeth and J. Earl Hooks. She is survived by her children, Lee and Craig Strickland and Lynn and Mike Leppert. Lovingly known as "MiMi", Margaret leaves seven grandchildren: Wilson Stooksberry, Emily Brown, Taylor Strickland, Tucker Strickland, Blair White, John Michael Leppert and Leah Allers, and eight great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister, Elizabeth Richards of Vero Beach, Florida. She is preceded in death and now reunited with her husband of 58 years, Rollin V. Wilson, her daughter, Libby Stooksberry and grandson, Wade Stooksberry.

Margaret graduated from Hutchison School and from Mary Baldwin College. She married her husband, Rollin V. Wilson, in 1950. She and Rollin never missed a Sunday at Second Presbyterian Church. Their love for the Lord was expressed through their long lasting commitment to Young Life. Rollin couldn't have spent 50 years as a volunteer leader without the support and understanding of his wife. They made many special memories in the lives of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at their "chalet" in Buena Vista, Colorado.

Margaret served as President of LeBonheur Club and enjoyed the company of friends while playing bridge weekly well into her 80's.

Her love for her family was clear-hosting family lunches after church every Sunday and never missing a grandchild's basketball, football or soccer game. She generously provided summer camps and Young Life ski trips as well.

A visitation will be held at Second Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, September 6 from 11:00-12:00 pm with a memorial service immediately following at 12:00 pm. Private burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Young Life (Rollin Wilson and Libby Stooksberry fund for urban summer campers) 658 Colonial Rd., Memphis, TN 38117 or the .
