Margaret Millard Sutton, 94, passed away on July 2, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Sutton, to whom she was married for 53 years, her brother Nat S. Millard (Ruth) of Memphis, TN, sister, Sara Barnette (Barney) of Nashville, TN, and grandson Justin Sutton of Fredericksburg, VA. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Sutton, of Olive Branch, MS, with whom she lived, 3 sons, Mark Sutton of Lawrenceville, GA, Craig Sutton (Robin) of Fredericksburg, VA, Barry Sutton (Gayla) of Hernando, MS and 2 grandsons, Jordan Sutton (Ashley) of Greensboro, NC and Eric Sutton of Hernando, MS. She is also survived by her nephew, Mike Barnette, niece Donna Willis and great niece Jerica Willis, all of Mt. Juliet, TN.

She was born and raised in Fayetteville, TN and attended Bowling Green Business University. She worked in Washington D.C. at the Department of Commerce and War Production Board. It was there that she met Tom on a blind date. She retired from the IRS in Memphis and was active with the East Shelby County Republican Club as well as the local chapter of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI. Family, friends and flowers were her passion and delight. She was a class act and the epitome of an elegant southern lady who leaves us rich in memories. The family request memorials be made to .

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 10 from 11:30-1:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow immediately at 1:00 p.m.
