Camden - Marjorie Tanner Wright passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was born on March 10, 1924, in Hector, AR to the late Rev. and Mrs. A. W. Tanner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, David Stuart Wright; her brother, Rev. Duell Tanner; and her sisters, Myrtle Pierce and Mildred Box. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Wright of Maumelle, AR and Kathy (David) Halligan of Germantown, TN; and her grandson, Britt Halligan of Germantown. Margie taught music for over 40 years, including piano, organ, voice, public school, and church choirs in Camden, Smackover, and Mt. Holly, AR. She had literally hundreds of students over the years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Smackover. For the past seven years, she resided at Town Village Audubon Park in Memphis, TN, where she regularly entertained and conducted sing-a-longs for the residents. She performed for the last time on Friday, May 13th. Margie shed a positive light on others with her music and bright personality, and will be deeply missed by friends and family. Graveside services will be held at Buena Vista Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1st, with arrangements by Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, AR.
