Michael Anthony Dill, 66, went home to be with our Lord on August 13, 2017, succumbing to a lingering illness. He was at North Delta Hospice House surrounded by family and friends. He was cared for at home prior to that by Spring Valley Hospice of Olive Branch, MS. Mike was born in Murray, KY on October 26, 1950 to Brandon and Anna Dill. He graduated from Murray High School and attended Murray State University, and The University of Tennessee. He received his Bachelor Degree. Upon leaving college he was a Memphis Police Officer for 5 years. He and his partner, Bill Shankman, founded Memphis Auto Center in 1982 and Mike has been the proprietor up until the present time. He also established and owned the Delta Duck and Game Club in Marks, MS for many years. Mike was an avid supporter of Ducks Unlimited and Quails Unlimited and a member of Olive Branch Sportsmen Club for years. He also served on the Better Business Bureau for a number of years. Mike loved animals and was a supporter of many Animal Shelters in the Mid-South. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jackie Cobbett Dill; his son, Brian Michael Watson (Kira); two grandsons, Callen and Macoy; a sister, Patricia Dill. Along with his wife, sister, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law helped care for Mike for the last few months. He also cherished his many nieces and nephews; his aunt, Ruth Futrell; and his multitudes of friends. Mike's three dogs, Buffy, Mr. B, and Smokey mourn him at home as well. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 26, at 2 p.m., with visitation prior from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to an animal shelter of your choice or Spring Valley Hospice or North Delta Hospice House.
