Michael "Mike" Joseph Armstrong, 57, passed away suddenly at home on March 27, 2017. He was born February 3, 1960, in Nashville and moved to Memphis at age five. He attended St. Paul Catholic School and Bishop Byrne High School in Memphis. Mike attended Memphis State University and was an avid Tiger fan. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He worked for the family business, American Lubricating, for 25 years. He then embarked on a new venture as an account executive in automotive industrial lubricants with Hicks Oils.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Provy & Luther Armstrong, his sister Jean McIvor, his wife's parents, Mary Ann & Roland Raffanti, and his brothers-in-law, Roland Regolo Raffanti II and Jean Rousseau. Mike leaves the love of his life, wife of 34 years, Linda Raffanti Armstrong, their two sons, Michael Silas Armstrong (Kristen) and Peter Joseph Armstrong, all of Memphis. He leaves his 3 brothers, Chip Armstrong (Meredith), Guy Armstrong (Cathy), Drew Armstrong (Jayme), and sister, Sandy Rousseau; brothers in-law, Rick Raffanti and Robert McIvor; sisters-in-law, Ann Raffanti Lindsey (John) and Nan Raffanti Miller (Tommy) and countless nieces, nephews and friends in Memphis and around the world.

Mike's love of life, family and friends is evident by his endless sponsorship, leadership and participation in events like the Swine & Dine Team of Memphis in May BBQ Festival, the Watermelon Open, Porter Leath, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Church Health Center, as well as his activity in the Levitt Shell. A heart has never been warmer, welcoming or as big. God has Mike in His keeping and we have him in our hearts.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 30th with a rosary at 7p.m. The Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 31st. Both services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
