Michael, born in Memphis, TN, on January 2, 1943 to the late Francis Owen Gallagher and Thelma Green Gallagher, died April 28, 2017. He graduated from Memphis Catholic High School and respectively served in the National Guard. He was self-employed in the automotive salvage and home restoration, and established successful businesses at both.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, Francis and Thelma Gallagher, his sister, Mary Patricia Clarkson and husband, Raymond Clarkson, granddaughter, Dixie and brother-in-law, Don Clay. He is survived by his beloved wife, Coeita Gallagher; daughter, Karen Campbell and husband, John Campbell of Arlington; son, Steven Gallagher and wife Teresa Gallagher of Memphis; son, Charles Gallagher and wife Jane Gallagher of Olive Branch; daughter, Dawn Nutt and husband, Gregory Nutt of Oakland; daughter, Shannon Gallagher and fiancé Kevin Swindle of Oakland. He first wife, Brenda Turner; sisters-in-law, Gwyn Johnson, Carlene Clay, brother-in-law, Dennis Clay and wife, Elizabeth Clay. He also leaves behind beloved grand-children, Dustin Smith of Lakeland, wife Mandy Smith; Mandi Flemons, husband, Craig Flemons; Christopher Smith of Bartlett; John Campbell, Jr., wife Audrey Campbell; Nicholas Campbell, wife Megan; Brandon Gallagher; Charlye Gallagher; Jonathan Nutt, significant other, Scott Noyes; James Nutt, wife Maegan Nutt and Nathanael Nutt (due October 11); Joseph Nutt, fiancé Alex Allred; Great Grand Children, Cooper Leggett, Kylee Smith, Grayson Flemons, Brooklyn Flemons, Cayden Smith, Logan Campbell, Riley Campbell, Lilly Campbell, along with 9 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests during a memorial service at Elmwood Chapel, 824 S. Dudley St., Monday, May 8, at 1:00 p.m., followed by graveside service. Long-time friend and preacher, Ricky McDade, will perform the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the .
