Michael Louis Frayser, Sr.

Memphis, TN

Michael Louis Frayser, Sr., 68, passed away in Memphis, TN on February 14, 2017. A life-long Memphian, Mr. Frayser, served as a Marine in the Vietnam War. He earned several medals for his bravery in Vietnam, including the Purple Heart. He earned an undergraduate degree in finance from Memphis State University and a Law degree from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis.

Mr. Frayser enjoyed a successful 28-year career as an investment banker, serving as a First Vice President at UMIC Investment Banking Group. He subsequently became an attorney and was admitted to the Tennessee Bar Association in 1999. He practiced as a civil litigator in the courts of Shelby County and Western Tennessee and the Federal Courts of the Western District of Tennessee. He was also a member of the Mensa Society.

Michael always believed that anyone can do anything they set their mind to.

Mr. Frayser was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann Zorzoli Frayser and Doxie M. Frayser, and his sister Victoria Carreras. He is survived by his wife, Ann, five children: Mia Rushe (Frank) of Boston, MA, Michael Frayser, Jr. of Starkville, MS, Dr. Michelle Johnston of Rio Grande, OH, Brittney Carimi (Dr. Robert) of Charleston, SC, and Peter Frayser (Susanna) of Atlanta, GA, and 12 grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Doxie Frayser (Barbara) and sister, Brenda Bishop.

Visitation will be 4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 20 followed by praying of the Rosary at 5:30 p.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church. A private Military Honors burial will take place on Tuesday.
